Understanding

To feel what someone else might feel, to see and hear what they believe with the same validation as your own life story, is what this Eye calls for. “I haven’t been there” exists as a kind of juxtaposition to what this eye stands for. Through media, social bubbles, political parties, and other in-groups, we limit our range and our willingness to engage with others, their opinions, their beliefs, and we create a quiet hierarchy in our minds, placing our thoughts above theirs. The mission of Noe is to bring a sense of true understanding through fashion, with each artwork creating abstract designs that challenge us to think and to see what doesn’t come to us at first. These designs will vary across different types of clothing, encompassing both color and its absence. The purpose of this Eye is to act as a tool for navigating the unknown, to introduce perspectives that allow us to see the full spectrum of our shared human experience. All of this is meant to spark conversation, to fully engage with new walks of life in the world we all share, and to foster a sense of community in a world that has grown so narrow in its compassion for one another.
